The Gigabit Ethernet ExpressCard is a high-performance PCMCIA-style network adapter that fits in the new ExpressCard/54 and ExpressCard/34 slots of a computer. It is an ExpressCard/34 device, and supports the Single PCI Express lane (x1) specifications, operating at the baseline 2.5 Gbps data rate and providing faster throughput than the current 32- and 64-bit PCI bus architectures. And there is no need to switch to fiber optic cable — the INTELLINET NETWORK SOLUTIONS Gigabit Ethernet ExpressCard allows you to run Gigabit speeds over your existing copper-wire network cable.Faster ThroughputThe Single PCI Express lane (x1) interface supports throughput rates of up to 2 Gbps when running in full duplex mode. This is ideal for resource-intensive CAD/CAM, client-server databases, multimedia, pre-press, advertising graphics, and server and mission-critical applications.Auto-NegotiationThe Gigabit Ethernet ExpressCard will automatically detect the network speed that the LAN switch port is set to and run at the same speed.
